Lawani Sunday is a seasoned visual artist and academic with over 25 years of professional experience in studio practice, fine art education, and scholarly research. As a lecturer at Auchi Polytechnic's Department of Painting, he has contributed significantly to the development of contemporary Nigerian art through teaching, mentoring, and exhibition participation. His academic background includes a Higher National Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma in Painting, and he is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. His research interests include experimental techniques in painting, material innovation (such as textile ink applications), and the integration of digital tools in traditional media. Mr. Sunday has an extensive exhibition record, including both solo and group showcases across Nigeria and internationally. He is published in several peer-reviewed journals and has presented at major academic and creative conferences. He also serves in leadership roles such as Assistant Curator and Exhibition Committee Member at his institution. An expert in both traditional and digital media—including CorelDRAW and Adobe Photoshop—he brings a cross-disciplinary approach to art education, combining technical skills with conceptual exploration. He is an active member of the Society of Nigerian Artists (S.N.A) and the Association of Professional Creative Artists and Designers (APCAD).
